We want to better understand human diseases, especially cancer, through a combinatorial approach of computational modeling and high-throughput experiments. One central question we pursue is: How is the plasticity of cancer cells influenced by their microenvironment, and what are the therapeutic implications?

We pursue the question with the following research techniques:

1. Developing novel computational biology software, especially for single-cell and spatial genomics;
2. Creative and knowledge-driven data mining;
3. Developing high-throughput molecular biology and cell biology experiments.

We belong to the newly established Department of Molecular Genetics and Genome Sciences at OU College of Medicine, and we are affiliated with the Stephenson Cancer Center, an NCI-designated cancer center.
